A PEKYAC project

Honest Tech

Honest Tech is a PEKYAC project where technical recommendations and fixes are, where practical, tested or verified by a real human before publication.

The influencer can be AI. The information cannot be fake.

Principles

These principles are specific to Honest Tech.

  1. Clearly disclose AI-created content where appropriate.
  2. Test technical advice before presenting it as verified.
  3. Disclose sponsorships.
  4. Disclose affiliate relationships.
  5. Disclose products supplied for testing or review.
  6. Do not invent expertise or credentials.
  7. Recommend products only when there is a genuine reason.
  8. Include free alternatives where appropriate.
  9. Explain when professional help is the better option.
  10. Correct meaningful mistakes publicly.
